The south in my rear view mirror.
Nothing much school is going great. I love this time of the year, not hot, not cold, very good. No Mr. Mac Davis "Texas in my rear view mirror", U had it wrong........It's the south in my rear view mirror. As I promised, my take on the state of the South is both one of hope and gloom.
First, the south I write here is that of middle belt (Miss, Alabama, LA, Texas), not Florida, or coastal regions of the old south. This isn't bashing, but critical look on what I have seen in my brief period in this region of America. U can disagree with me, but I don't really give rat's arse if U think I'm too critical on the region. It's what I saw, and what I saw ain't that bright.
It's still hateful place, where rural black communities do not enjoy the wealth of this great nation, and are still left behind in a misery of sh*t. Some places look like third world, where one may or would think, the Katrina victims look rich. Educational support which was my groups goal, is what's lacking here, many young children that I have met are way off on their age and grade. What the f*** are these parents doing to their kids and why are they not taking them off from these schools, town schools which have failed, and have no hope? I do not know, but the south of the past is still well and with us. Religion can't help U if your nothing, have nothing, ignored by your elected officials, and passed by globalization. School after school, teachers seem to emphasise religion and daily prayers, f* prayer, and the South. Yeah go ahead U sh*ts keep praying, praying, praying.
Gotta go, will finish 1st part later...

CAN'T MARRY HER, SHE'S TOO UGLY.....
Oh this made my day...........
Claiming that the bride in an arranged marriage was too homely for his son, a Massachusetts man is suing friends who sought to set up the New Delhi nuptials. In his lawsuit, Dr. Vijai Pandey contends that he traveled with his family to India to meet his 37-year-old son Pranjul's future wife, but was "extremely shocked" to discover that the woman was "ugly," had "protruded bad teeth," and could not speak English or hold a conversation. The family called off the ceremony, noted Pandey in his Hampden Superior Court complaint, a copy of which you can find below. The lawsuit, which seeks $200,000 in damages, names as defendants Lallan and Kanti Giri, a Maryland couple whose niece was the proposed bride. As Pandey sees it, the Giris are guilty of, among other things, fraud and conspiracy for trying to arrange a union with their unattractive relative. Along with supposedly suffering emotional distress, Pandey alleges that the derailed wedding cost him money spent on travel and long-distance telephone calls. Smokinggun.
My take on the US South coming soon.

I'm back, back to home and to great State of Minni.
What can I say, volunteering ever since. Honestly I can say that I believe volunteering is far more important than material things that take away our duty to each other. It has been terrific learning experience for me and the other students.
I have seen the true face America, and I will try to write about it alot. For me there is no point in preaching a mantra to any one, we all know the ills and goodness of this nation, what I will try to cover from my journal...........
1) My own perspective about the American South.............Not happy with the direction many southern states are headed. Not at all.
2) The people...........
3) Other volunteers............Think about college students on a road trip for few months......wild, open, and astoundingly ugly and beautiful.
4) Towns, cities, schools that have been our daily activities ever since..........traveling, stopping, off to barbecue wings at one of the many roadside restaurats, watching high school football at nights, or just chatting with locals.
I will be bit busy these days, with school starting on Tuesday, and probably will be in a hectic state for the next few months, I will try to update this, others I got rid of them, myspace, facebook, and student blogs have to wait another time.
Back to my political side, NOW Monday is labor day........
What Does Labor Day Mean To You?
Is it, just another day?
A day to look back the injustice many people have suffered without labor unions?
Or just a paid holiday, a day off to do nothing?
