Reasons why people like me support the Democratic Party, with all its ills…..They are way, I mean way better on many important issues that are in our homes daily.
Me, as many others this is personal. My mother takes 9 different medications, and after the Bush drug company plan, the cost of her medication increased two-fold. And there are many more mothers like my mother, whom their drug plan was written by the DRUG COMPANIES! How sad. There are 48 million of Americans, who are without healthcare, is that good in this country, wealthiest, most advanced nation the world has ever seen to have that many people with no healthcare? I will leave that to you to answer………
Always take the side of Science. Take a look at Rocket’s blog about many issues concerning science…Here…..Science does not have preconceived notion on anything. Done with trail and error. Good Science has been the back bone to the world, and that’s what made this nation most advanced, plus a nation that has always been advocating separation of science and religion, the fear of many, which is understandable is that, science in the wrong hands could be unhelpful to humans. I agree on this, but my take is that, we have went away from many scientific issues that have been flawed in the past, after they were found to be unbeneficial to humans, so that’s what we will do after we found out if stem cell does no good. Never mix science with religion. PERIOD…..
Wage………These has been increasing divide between those who are bottom 20 percent and those top 10 percent in health, and we cannot and should not allow this. I’m happy with my vote, and that the Dems will first address this issue, where they will raise the minimum wage to $7.25 an hour. That’s a good start, we than can address the middle class tax fairness.
Energy, energy, energy. This is very important, so important I think the Dems should go after the money that these giant oil companies made and took some from them, so to invest in alternate fuel.
Katrina………Failures of this has to be investigated and never repeated. Both state and federal government have failed our people.

Not fix everything, but do better than the GOP. And they will.
As I said before, issues which were what the Dems run and advocated that will lead the nation will be addressed...
Healthcare....What? Blame to go around! That doesn't make sense. If you look both parties, we know which one is for big healthcare companies, and which is not. So stop your blame goes around. Just try to answer this question, Which party will address 45 mil people without any medical care?
Iraq.......Murtha will lead this, and we know where he stands on Iraq. Nuff said.
Raising the wage......may be BS or huhaaah for people like me or you, but it ain't for millions of lower and middle class people who have two jobs to support their families. But I agree, this only will not solve the problem that many poor people in this nation are facing, such as those who have their low paying jobs gone to China and India, so I think this must be done while also addressing the issue of fair trade. It seems last six years, the trade with China went to the roof and that must be dealth with now.
Katrina....Conservatives worry about credit cards, while I worry the thousands who have lost their lives while their president and government played politics on their lives. That says it all. I wonder if the Katrina wasn't in NO, but in Austin Tex, what would have been the reaction of BushCo and their supporters who would first blame the dead, rather where blame should be.
Religion......Ted, Foley lool...advocate what U yourself enjoy to do....Lol we are humans with all our faults......Every election year, the GOP used religion to divide people, but this time those who were used before said no, and I think this will continue in the future, where more and more churchies will realize their are just another tool for the GOP. I heard Over 30% didn't vote for them. If this happens again, they will not win. Do you know, Religious right in this country make more than all blacks and religious left put together as a voting block? If the Dems get more than 25% of them, you can put say bye bye to the GOP.
Energy....Lol big oil made billions because they are 2 big, that's really funny. I give you credit trying to come with up with that. There will be oversight done by the Congress, and I can bet, even though I'm not one to bet, that there will be many other reasons why they made that much money.

Healthcare...I'm for Universal healthcare, why we seem not to know what to do with healthcare? I tell you why! Both parties are full of HMO"s dollars, why not create governmental admin. as the IRS to come up with rules and how the healthcare system in this country should be run, while making sure no one is left behind. This is very simple, we live in America, greatest nation in the face of the earth, let's not play games with the poor, this nation's wealth can provide healthcare, a good healthcare to every citizen.
I know, alot of people fighting the good fight on this, both in state and federal level, and think one day we may achieve this. I really do.

Yeah I know the waste and abuse, not only in NO, but in Iraq war where billions have also been miss-placed. Conservatism isn't dead, what's dead is the blind following that many conservatives seem to follow on the Republican agenda each and every election year, while knowing some of these are against their own beliefs. Helping the poor, small government, separation of church and state, personal freedom from government dictation have all been lost in the last 12 years that the GOP had the congress.
So, no conservatism isn't dead, but some including the religious groups now know that they have been used.
Dem, my mother is self-employed and cannot afford health insurance, either. I AM in favor of universal healthcare. It's the decent thing to do.
