Life has been great...........

Uni is taking me to schoooolllll Lol..............Exam after exam, I'm recovering from two long exams today, and long hours at Wilson Library.

Thanks for your replies, I know, feminism isn't dead, but what's dead is the drive by young women of today to stand for their rights, and what my mother and many other women used to hold so dearly...........THAT, right-wing men who hold office, shouldn't play politics with their bodies..........

My question about the last post, was why such women as our Sec. of State RICE, who benefited from Feminism doesn't really care it now? Leave that Coulterrat.

Professional woman: 'what have you been doing'

Ordinary woman: 'i have three children that are little and lovely'

Professional: 'everyone can do that, i meant what did you really do'

The great feminists of the past provided Ann Coulter with the choice to be a buttwipe.

That doesn't mean we failed. For every Ann Coulter or Condi Rice, there are thousands of women who continue the battle. Some like me are public; some quietly live their lives so their children will grow up respecting that all people have value. They have choices that were unthinkable in my generation. What they do with those choices is up to them.

And some, like Coulter or Buchanan are bitter, hatefilled, idiots.

Take a look at the blogroll on isamericaburning sometime. We have a legion of outspoken, intelligent, angry women. We're not going anywhere.

I like women.

Agree women should have the same right's as men.

I just wish feminists would do more to discredit man haters. :(

Women fought for the right to CHOOSE to work or stay home. There is nothing wrong with choosing not to work. Not a choice I would make, but choosing that doesn't mean someone is anti-feminist, or ordinary.

Great answers, Granny and Dawnmarie.

CD, I'll make a deal with you. I'll work harder on smacking down those man haters while you work on those woman haters (who seem to me to be more prevalent than ever and have the real power). Why does it have to be a battle of the sexes anyway? Why can't people work and stand for the common good of all humans? I get these emails from a male friend about how this woman did that to some poor man and that woman did another thing, and the man reacted a certain way, and didn't that woman deserve it, etc.? Tiresome. My answer is always the same: treat each other as human beings worthy of respect, regardless of gender and you should be okay.

Dem, I am a professional woman and an ordinary woman and teacher and mom. Raising thinking, caring, responsible human beings isn't easy and everyone is definitely NOT doing it. Jackie Kennedy once said that if you fail at raising your children, nothing else you do will matter much. I agree. It's the most important job I have.

Granny...."What they do with those choices is up to them". I don't think that should be the case..Does that not throw away, what U have fought for years.......For the young women, in my life, and around take a lesson for what U and others have done for them.....Some say, Feminism has lost some steam on many women? But, why? I'm with U on this issue, just asking questions......I have seen most of your blogroll, and will see more....

Dawn....Work! Not just your 40hour work, but working to change world politics....Do U think, if SD women were up in arms, the abortion bill would have passed, or had a chance? I don't think so....

CD....Don't mistake Feminist, with others, like the Lesbo-Movement, which also use feminism as their fight.....Two different cases...

JB....Kudos to U.....That's what I'm saying, why would one not want to make a living, be part in political stage, and still be a mother....!

Dem - my generation had almost no choices. That's all I meant.

Too much explanation involved for a comment box. Briefly, if women are leading worthwhile lives and trying to leave the world a little better than they found it, their choices have value even though they might not have been what Friedan and Steinem envisioned.

I do agree that more of us should stand up and be counted and the other commenter made a good point about South Dakota. The women could throw the bums out of office if they banded together.
