As we strain to grasp the things we desire, the things we think will make our life better- money, popularity, fame- we ignore what truly matters, the simple things- like friendship, family, love- the things we already have.

Hey.....What are you doing for Saturday? If you are going to be in around west-bank give me a call, we can go out!?! Love you.........Me..........she must be crazy! Never said, I love U.

U know what? If this world produces more than enough food to feed everyone tell me why people are starving to death everyday even in the US. If we have the power and money to educate why are we letting people die and be infected by AIDS. Don't get me wrong, that bum standing on the street corner in Minni is not going to get my money, my money will be going to someone that's not a drunk and actually works for a living and just needs some extra help.

Yeah but becuz everyone views it that way there will always be bums on the street. Most of us want to help but if you think about it when it comes to crunch time if it aint going to help you in the long run then ppl don't ever feel like helping the needy. Give them a million dollar check or anything else besides telling them it will help humanity and hell they'll be out ther building new houses but if theres no self benefit then no one will do anything else besides pretend they care about whats happening instead of donating time or even money to save our society. But the thing is half the things don't need money like donating blood, volunteering etc. So it's not always about the molah.

But it is true if a homeless man comes and asks for money my first reaction would be get on the other side of the road and the second would be no you're just gona drink it away. Harsh harsh reality.

Maria....I think, the state has to help these people....Other things wouldn't make any difference.

People are still starving because the food does not necessarily go the right places. There is waste in places of excess, and starvation in places of need. The key is finding how to get the waste over to the places of need.

And whether or not people are educated about AIDS does not guarantee that they will take action of what they learn. People will still keep doing what they're doing regardless of information they may have learned. Hence, the smokers will keep on smoking regardless of the known risks.

I've tried to help out some bums in the past by offering them food instead of money. They scoffed at me. I suppose it's not really food that they want but money to support whatever addictions they have. Sad indeed.

We gave a couple of meals to homeless peops in Chicago's Union Station, and they were grateful for it. Sadly, we only thought of it by accident. We bought our small son a meal he didn't want (he saw the Golden Arches instead, and that's all she wrote), so we gave it to a homeless man. The next time, we just bought an extra meal for a person sitting nearby. So, I guess it depends on the bum.

I'm afraid a lot of people out on the streets are mentally ill and are probably there because they can't hold a job. I don't have any stats to back that up, though. It's just that a lot of times, they're talking to themselves and gesturing wildly and.... Well, that could be me, never mind. Anyway, you never know what a person's story is.

Everybody seems to be saying "Love ya" these days. I'm not crazy about it. How about a simple "Take care"? Something I know you mean.

If I have some money to spare I give it to organizations that can help many. Like soup kitchens or the Salvation Army or something. I rarely give money to beggars. Depends. Sometimes I buy them a cup of coffee, or a hotdog if they're hungry or something. But I don't want to finance their addictions.
