Iraq's civil war nightmare

Its clear now, Iraq will never be one nation. The civil war many of us talked about is becoming reality. Right-wing America, how do you feel now?

"For the families of the people who have died since the invasion in 2003, or the thousands more who have been maimed, or those who have been kidnapped, it probably does not matter much what sort of war is going on in Iraq" BBC. I agree. I have nothing but admiration for all soldiers who have been killed or wounded, and especially my Screaming Eagles, Fort Campbell, Kentucky stay strong.........

Curling? I mean when did janitorial services become an Olympic sport? Luge just looks like your ultimate theme park ride.........a ride that could snap your spine in two if you get it wrong though. Warning don't try it at home town parks.........Lol......

This came as a shock to me, I thought burning churches had stopped in the 60's, were are we going? The raise of extreme groups have been growing up, especially anti-semitic. The government must not wait till these groups become violent, as the young man in NJ did few weeks ago.

Iraq from day one was going to end up in a civil war. George Bush Sr. was smart enough to realize that going into Baghdad was a bad idea.

This should go down a one of the biggest moronic mistakes of ANY administration.

Curling, I don't know if I agree with your anaology. It's certainly not Hockey, but it does have strategy and skill involved.

JB.....I catch few minutes of the olympics yesterday, and was hurting watching it.....

Rocket.....All GOP members, and voters should feel the heat.......Forced democracy never works, and will never work in Iraq.....

I became fan of Hockey last few years, know few players at the U, who hook me with the game. I really enjoy watching the gophers when I have the time to watch them at Mariucci Arena...with free tickets :)

90% of these so-called games in the winter olympics aren't sports at all for real.....:(

Well then that begs the question:

"What is a sport? What makes a sport a sport?"

It was pretty obvious from day one (at least to anyone who's studied the region) that the divisions were too great. It was always a fool's paradise to think that the Kurds would want anything less than an independent Kurdistan, much less the Sunnis and Shi'ites, who have been divided since, well, since their schism.

I think what curling needs is some tense moments when they drop the gloves and go at it.

Kidding.

While I became oddly addicted to curling during the olympics, (indeed it's the only event I watched) I do not think it is a sport. And I have a hard time calling the subjective events (figure skating, ice dancing, gymnastics, etc) the same kind of sport as say, hockey, or basketball (worthless sport) baseball, football, track, etc. Anything that gets judged rather than has a system of point scoring by the players should be categorized as something different.

hmm. by that definition, curling would be a sport. Hmm. I shall have to ponder this.

certainly, the things that are judged require athletic prowess and a rigorous training schedule. hmmm.
