Next week, we will hear Cheney excusing his action by saying that he was hunting against terrorism. Isn't that always their excuse???
The Cheney thing, while ridiculous and fodder for numerous jokes, seemed to be a pretty clear-cut accident. I don't neccessarily think there needs to be some kind of 'payment' for it.

had Cheney purposely gone on a murderous rampage against his hunting partner, that would be different.
As for Canada being the team to beat, I agree they are a threat, but come on, they beat Italy. The only reason Italy even had a team is because they are the host country, the 16-0 win isn't something to be concerned about. The 12-0 win over russia is a little more concerning, but still. That being said, The US mens team isn't going to finish in the top four. I have no idea about the womens team. Women's hockey is boring.

The one important thing to remember is "Why did it take almost 24 hours to report this incident?"
I think that is what is getting to everyone.
Now that poor man he shot has had a heart attack and Dick is making a statement today that should be intersting. Will they take Dick's hunting liences away cause they should.
they should take his hunting lisence away, if that is standard procedure for this kind of incident. I have no idea what the Standard is for this.
Why did it need to be reported right away? It was an accident. Who cares? If he had done it intentionally, then it needed to be reported right away. Hunting accidents happen, fairly frequently I expect, and they aren't reported to the news every time. The "leaders" of this country are people just like everyone else who make mistakes.
As for why it wasn't, perhaps they were waiting for the gentleman to reach stable condition, or perhaps it was at the request of his family? I have no idea. But at the same time, I don't care.
But it's damn funny.
