Jean is a A .........!

This was totally disgusting and really shows how a deeply screwed our elected officials are .

Ohio House of Representatives Jean Schmidt said "cowards cut and run", Marines never do. To whom U may ask?

Non other than one of the most decorated Marine ever, Rep John Murtha, two-time Vietnam war veteran from Pennsylvania, 1st Vet to ever serve in the Congress, AWARDED BRONZE STAR, AND 2 PURPLE HEARTS, most stunch supporter of the US Military.................And here U have a 1st time rep from Ohio who won her seat just this summer for special election saying shi(r)t about Old Marine...........

MY God! People can U belief this!!! Cowards can't cut and run because they don't go "To war" in the first place(Cheney; my five deferment owl, Bush; I served, NO I didn't). Sorry my langs, but this bi(.)ch is a freshman congresswoman!!.

I'm ashamed to say that I'm from Ohio. But fortunately, I'm not in her district, so I didn't vote for her.

I think the "cowards cut and run" statement was actually a quote from a letter she received from a constituent, if I remember the correctly. This shows how deeply screwed our general public is, to write something so offensive directed at Rep. Murtha. It also shows how deeply screwed up our elected officials are, for repeating this kind of s#$%.

Not only that, but when did it become unpatriotic to criticize our government? Is it because in times of war, we are supposed to meekly and humbly follow our president? Since when are we, as Americans, not supposed to voice dissenting opinions?

I don't agree with the war because I feel that Americans were misled as to the reasons we went to war in the first place. But I support our troops, for having the courage to voluntarily do what many can not...fight in a war that isn't their's. And thank God there are people who are willing to voice their opinions, even when they aren't popular, in order to uphold the tenets upon which our democratic society is built: the right to free speech.

Whew! That's been pent up for a while, thanks for letting me vent!

I was enraged when I read about this last week. Schmidt didn't know what the hell she was saying. What would she know about being a Marine? Ugh... everything she said just disgusted me...

P.S. Now she's trying to retract what she said. Too late, but I think she finally has realized the folly of what she so stupidly blurted out.

Yeah...if you're going to say something, why bother retracting it? Obviously you believed in it enough to say it in the first place, Schmidt. I think Jean Schmidt should keep two things in mind the next time she makes an incendiary statement: 1) Politics is not a popularity contest. 2) Research who you're shooting down before attempting to do so. Otherwise, a respected and decorated Marine might go gansta on ya.
