What's happening in our schools?

Teenagers shooting their classmates and teachers..................are we becoming people with a culture of violence? Where's all this coming from?

I'd say a steady regemine of violent cartoons fed to us from childhood into adulthood.

Those that were raised on the Warner Bros. cartoons were the first generation. It has subsequently gotten worse with the progression of time.

Jan....I do agree with U on 100% that the media had big influence on the raise of violence in schools....I graduated in 03 and the tension between students was very high.....and this was one of the most peaceful schools in MN...

Plus this is also happening in Europe.....the pic is from the Uk, where a student lashed with knife on that young girl......From end of 03-04 I was stationed in northern Italy and same things were happening there also...

I wish I knew what caused these kids to shoot their classmates and teacher it is everything from bullies to not getting enough attention at home. When I was in high school we had a threat of a shooting just a threat though it was really scary and nohting ended up happening but I was worried.

I was a substitute teacher for awhile and school violence was an issue in my mind. It is sad....that an educator has to even consider his or her own safety as a factor of taking an assignment.
